This just showed up on my Facebook:

'Did you know that horses are allergic to cherries? It’s something we have recently found out and we’re concerned that lots of horse treats come in cherry flavour. Obviously the flavouring is fine and not toxic but we wondered how many people knew that the fruit and plant its self could cause problems?'

Is it true? I've never heard this before.

Thank you.

Nope not true. I used to graze my mare in a cherry orchard. Droppings used to be full of stones and you could never find cherries on the bottom halves of the trees!
Never had a problem :)
