Horses and drink driving... very very sad

that's awful. :(

everytime people ride out they take there life and there horses life's in there hands.

i hope he gets jailed for a very VERY long time.

Oh dear how awful :(

Thankfully we don't have to go on many roads. It's not my horse that worries me, it the drivers who insits on speeding because they are on a country road and don't expect to see anyone else on it

Oh dear. So sad. Rip horses. I would be devastated.

I find riding in rural lanes and villages the worst. Since moving to a city, I find that people on main roads are more likely to slow down and give you space. It's really quite bizarre. Then once you are in a village or country lane, they use it like racetracks. White vans are the worst.

Yeah I work at the car insurance company who insures the car, and I took the claim :( it was horrid hearing about it, and he was too cowardly to do it himself. He got his wife to do it. Can't believe his kids were in the car too!

This was just down the road from me. It's awfully sad. The one good thing is that its all over the local news and a lady from our RC has been talking about it on the radio and I think is on south today at some point so maybe it will help get the message across to more people

I wish accidents like this would make the national news. Then more people would be be aware. I often feel like these accidents are hushed.

i hope he gets jailed for a very VERY long time.

I know of the people involved and it is just so harrowing. Unfortunately the law doesn't see the death of an animal in the same way as a human life so the penalty is unlikely to be very significant.

It would have been so different if it was a group of cyclists or walkers or children on small ponies.

These beautiful horses protected their riders by paying with their own lives, the riders injuries will heal in time but the physical and mental scars will run very deep.

RIP Tubbs & Rose xxx

So horrible :( the same happened to a friend of a friend years ago, young boy racer came flying around a corner on a country lane and drove straight into her horse's back legs at considerable speed. Broke both back legs so her beautiful Arab mare had to be put to sleep in the road and broke the rider's back.

I hope both riders make a full recovery and my heart goes out to them for the tragic loss of their horses :(
