do they get them? and is it normal, i was down the yard earlier and my 2 year old seem to be hiccuping she didnt seem distressed but it was a bit worrying as its doesnt seem normal and we have said that if she is still doing it when we go back up we will get the vet out to see her just to make sure shes not having any breathing difficulties or having something stuck in her throat...

but have you ever experienced this or are my horses weird? :o

Used to have a TB that hiccuped probably once a month on average. First one I'd met though, & no rhyme or reason as to why he'd do it.

One of mine hiccups most days , Vet said it was unusual and he'd never seen it before , the lady that comes to "chat" to my horses gets them hiccuping everytime ! She says its a good sign ... what of I carn't remember !

My Welsh C gets hicchoughs mainly at Shows. Its seems to happen when he is excited. Has been known for him to have them all day. They disappear when he is moving but whilest we stand in the lineup they come back. It amuses the Judges and fellow competitors.

ooo ok as long as i am not the only one they have stopped now but i will ask my vet when hes up for injections anyway but it doesnt seem to affect either horse as my 10year old had it once while we were tacking himup and we were baffled haha oh well i was thinking worse case scinario of coming up the yartd later and having a dead pony or something but it wasnt that bad im such a worrier :o

One of mine used to hiccup a lot as a foal, it didn't bother him and he grew out of it, he's now 7 and I've not seen him hiccup since a foal.
