Horses and smoke

You would think they would panic wouldnt you??
Today as I set off on a hack, the house next to our yard lit a fire and there was smoke coming into the field and across the road where I have to ride up onto the moor. Well madam stopped and snorted at the smoke on our way out of the gate, but once I was on we set off up the road and she walked right through it!! I trotted on as I couldnt breathe it in for very long! But I thought she would make way more of a fuss about walking in it than that

More importantly, are people allowed to light fires any time of the day??

My girls used to stand in the smoke of the YO's house (at a previous yard) as they realised it got rid of midges.

I dont think they are allowed to after 6pm.

if you look at it tho they stand in smoke when they have there shoes done!

Our donkey used to pester the farrier when he was shoeing the horses - the donkey used to want to inhale the smoke - very odd!!! Makes me wonder whether he was ever 'treated' to the odd cigarette when he was a beach donkey!!
