I dont know if ive just been smacked with the unlucky branch but things seem to be going wrong at the moment ;0(

When I first bought my lad he was brill....nothing was wrong and he did so well....I took him on a sponsored ride in April this year and everything seemed to go wrong after that...he messed about in the trailer, reared, I broke my thumb and he cut his face and scared himself silly....
6 weeks ago I noticed he was lame in the field I had just started renting and discovered he had maybe fallen and pulled all his pelvis muscles....he had also managed to scratch his face to pieces which was open and ozzing....

He was signed off for a month but after 7 weeks I have still found he is lame and realise it is going to take a while for him to get better....his face is finally healing and luckily the vet was able to stitch it and the hair is growing back!!

The farrier came out today and said he also now has seedy toe....

I know they are nothing big but im just fed up....I rent two fields...one in the winter with a stable and a small piece of grazing and another bigger one for the summer...the small one is on a really busy road which stops me from riding at some points of the day and the bigger one is full of flies....I cant believe how many and its on a slope which is causing even more stress on my lad getting better faster....

I dont know what to do - move completely and start again with positive thoughts or just shut up and get on with it....!!
Positive vibes please.....

I total sympathise - my boy has now been out of work since May bank holiday and the vet recons he will be for another 9 months at least... had to move him yards as where he was he couldn't get the limited turn out he needed but he's turning into a grumpy monster.. bargey, difficult etc because he's bored. Added to his spavin he's got a low iron count because he won't eat properly and massive sweet itch!!! all i do is apply creams and muck out!! some days it doesn't seem worth it... but keep thinking positive thoughts and it will get better... if the fields aren't working for you it may be worth taking a look around to see what else is available - its amazing the difference a nice yard can make!!

Good luck - lots of positive vibes coming your way!!!

Totally with you on this one! I have 3 horses - one on loan who is Loss Of Use and so cant be ridden (came as companion but now I dont need him I keep hesitating to send him back), one young (been off work since middle of May due the vet things) and a middle aged one who was sound until last night when LOU horse took it upon himself to kick her.
