Well, I`m moving house at the end of the month and my neddies are in for a shock.

For the past 9 years I have had them at home and they have had a huge steading they can get to from the field, perfect for them.
However, I`m having to keep them in a field with no shelter over the winter until new field is sown etc.

Was thinking of using large square bales (2 high) in a T-shape to give them some shelter, plus there are hedges up one side.

Anyone got any other good ideas for a temporary shelter?

Square bales sound reasonable. They can snack whilst they shelter then.

If they are the 600lb jobbies like mine are then they'd be stable enough.

Solid fencing, also works, my horses prefer it to their shelter. I use solid sheets of ply nailed to the outer side of the fence posts (4" twisted nails) I live in a wind tunnel and gusts of 60-70 km/ph are pretty norma,l never lost any windbreaks yet.
