Hello,

Just wondering if anyone can help me.

I am currently looking for a youngster and there is one that I like and its by Jazz and I have been told that horses by Jazz are generally nasty so just wanted to know if anyone knows any different

Thanks :)

Jazz horses have a reputation for being hot/sharp. And certainly the few that I know live up to this reputation. Having said that they are also very talented.

Generally (and of courses there are always exceptions and it very much depends on the dam line as well) in my view they are more professionals horses.

Jazz horse have a reputation for being sharp, but i wouldnt say nasty. I dont know any that are nasty or difficult to handle.

My 2yr old has Jazz as his grandsire - he can be very sharp/quick and is very intelligent. Obviously he is only doing inhand work at the moment though so can't comment about with regards to under saddle as yet!

I have a chestnut mare by Jazz, the damsire also has a reputation for producing sharp horses, but she is just wonderful! Talented, sensitive without being silly, not in any way nasty, love her to bits!

The one I new was a NUTTER

and that is coming from someone who works and show arabs of all ages including stallions, and the 2 year old colts are quieter than the horse by Jazz that I knew HAHA

Thanks for all your replies, really helpful to know peoples opinions on him, you can't always say everything is going to be the same so i will try it and see. i'm used to sharp horses so i will see.

thanks again :)

It depends how you act towards them. There are some Jazz offspring at my stable now. One looks mean, but once you say hello to him and rub his face, he wouldn't hurt a fly. He is a bit 'fast' in his reactions when riding, but he will work his heart out.

The other one is a 3,5 year old. He is VERY sweet and really good looking. But he is also sharp and very alert.

Most people think Jazz' offspring are nasty, mean and hard to ride, but once you get to know a Jazz, you will start to understand them.

Thanks very much, I'm used to sharp and very quick thinking horses and seem to get on with them very well so i will try him and see how he feels. Apparently he's very friendly and likes a lot of fuss and attention so i will see how he is.

Thanks for the reply.:)
