Hope to be thinking about starting a family in a few years time but can't imagine how you would manage a baby and horses and work....

have any of you been through this - how did you manage - how long a break did you end up taking (if any) from horses...and if you own/keep your own did you get someone else to ride, get in a sharer etc.

Sister's having a baby on Monday (they're inducing her) and it really got me thinking about it......

maybe you could get a sharer in to help out so you could still see your horse and ride it after work etc. Keep it at your yard, the sharer could do most of the caring etc while the baby is young, maybe ask a friend to help the sharer excersise the horse, then when baby is a few months older, in the evenings after work, OH can go on baby duty and you go see the horse? or an arrangement to some kind of extent like that lol

Yes I believe it takes about 20 children (age 7 or a fat 5-6 year old) to equal the weight of one horse.

would have assumed that for someone of your self-stated status the name of the post might have indicated that you were unlikely to be able to add anything productive (if you'll pardon the pun)....

but do please feel free to take your usual sarcastic swipe.....

if you get yourself very organized and have a good partner thats understanding thats all there is to it, you will enjoy and appreciate your riding time more
