How do you like your horses to look, this time of year?
I know you can't generalise as breeds are different, but as a matter of preference, how do you like to keep yours?

I am always fretting and worrying about condition, and am obsessive about constantly feeling them and taking pictures, to make sure I am doing the right thing.

I'll put two pics up, taken today and yesterday, (albeit hesitantly..)
Herbie still has a bit of a belly, but is working more and is getting a bit fitter round the chest, he was a bit flabby when first put in the pasture they are in. Phantom seems to be a neat pony, he is also working and getting fitter.

I just need to know I am doing the right thing at the moment ...

Going by a website, (http://www.omafra.gov.on.ca/english/livestock/horses/facts/98-101.htm) I would say they are good, as no bones can be felt, but I could be wrong.

Looks fine, bit of a belly on him/her but looks fine for this time of year.

I like mine to stay looking the same all year round if I can (albeit with lots more hair or less if they're clipped), which usually they do.

I hope H is less fat by Spring too, he is doing more work now and will be building up to few days a week by the so hopefully he will look good.

They look fine to me. They're living out 24/7 and a wee bit of extra padding goes a long way... remember we're not at the coldest part of the year yet, so they may drop weight then.
