I have just come back from a fabulous day that revolved entirely around horses (or ponies as i like to say :D ).

I left the house at 7am, dragging my @ss out of bed as i really wanted to sleep all day, fed my horse and had a cuddle, then wrote for a judge between 9-12:30, rode the pony and then was writting again from 2 till 5.

I have learnt so much about the way of going of how a horse should be. I didnt ride delicia in her snaffle today as it was a show environment and didnt think it the best place to introduce a new thing to her. However, and i am very proud of this, i rode almost entirely off my bridoon rein, really letting go of the curb and only using the curb as and when needed....

and how was she i hear you ask?

Effing strong, pig headed and ignorant to my aids ;) entirely my fault. So i am going right back to basics with her. I am going to Jason Webbs to help in a few weeks time for some lessons, a more practical and horseman approach to her mental issues rather then just a pure dressage perspective.

Watch this space ;) having depression truely and utterly sucks and is totally draining, but days like this really help to make me smile and gain perspective.

I met some lovely HHO'er today and some fab ponies. Well done to anyone who was there today :)

Me want a like button :)

Cantered Lyla in the school, we only really started on Thursday :o (she's rising 7 but only backed and ridden away this last year :))

She tries so hard:) I just adore her!!! :) :o

And yes, horses make life a lot better ;)

Was really lovely to meet you today :)

You are totally doing the right thing going to Jason. Did you meet Sarah today?

He will really give you a new perspective, and I bet you will come away wishing everyone did things his way. It makes so much sense. Can't wait to see what you think of him and his staff. Really brilliant place.

Yeah I know - bet you will come away from his lessons wishing you were though....that's how I ended up on livery there....for 18 months. I only sent Mick there for 2 weeks!

Yes that'll be Wendy you spoke to. She's lovely too.

I live about a 5 min walk from Jason's. used to hack past my house when I was there! Pop in for tea :)

Honey, I also suffer horribly from depression . . . and having Kal has (no word of a lie) saved my life . . . gets me out of the house, forces me to be in society, gets me in the fresh air, and has me doing something physical . . . not to mention the pleasure I feel when he calls to me across the yard or when I'm on board and we work together.

Horses are great healers.

Horses are indeed healers, go to any RDA centre and you can see this pure and simple :)

beautiful creatures and i am honoured to be able to share my life with a special star.

Nothing to add really other than 'good luck' BH. Been there... And my horse is food for my soul... Without which I would surely starve xxx

All the very best :) xxx
