Don't see why not - might make a nice change especially as it's a fairly moist food, although would have to introduce it slowly of course.
We tend to feed oats and barley in this country for historical reasons - it's what we grow most of (well it was years ago) and it was easy to just give some to the farm horses for lunch during harvest work.
Can you let us know if yours like it so we can all try it?!
based on a dry piece as a polo treat substitute works, i cooked some up, let it cool, and added it in, and later on, they wolfed it down, loved it!
so, tonight is cous cous, all day soaked with the beet to make it take the flavour. they really enjoyed it, and it bulked it out a bit to make it last longer, and its a bit warm, which in these force 10 gales theyre in, can only be a plus on a winter day
Well as cous cous is made from wheat, it is probably not much different from feeding Baileys No 1, which is 100% micronised wheat! Buying the Baileys would work out much cheaper than couscous designed for humans I suspect!
Obviously not suitable for laminitics or anything cereal-intolerant though!
