local news last night said that locals had stated that the horses and dogs were slaughtered and that there were barracades in place to stop fire engines getting to the house.
its all very strange.

This is a LINK with pics of the house and outbuildings, but be warned, I got a shock when I saw an unexpected close up of the stables.

I know alot of "Fosters" in Shropshire - I hope for their sakes none of them are related to this lot of Fosters - it sounds too dreadful for words, its a small county too. I cant see it being an insurance jobby either.

The horsebox had it's tyres slashed and was parked across the gateway to stop the fire services getting in..........

Apparently there was a vendetta against him and his company was in liquidation.

It's like the start of a horrible book..........

Pictures on the front page of our local paper tonight, but no mention of horses slaughtered, gates blocked etc, and thank heavens no close up of the stables

Says the dogs are missing. Apparently he was a Telford businessman who had recently moved out to Maesbrook, had been involved in a blackmail case not so long ago, but don't know any more than it says in the papers. Seems even their neighbours didn't really know them. Awful if they were in the property, which seems to be increasing likely, surely if they were just away they would have contacted police by now. My thoughts to their familes and friends.

oh my god that is awful, inearly choked when i saw the remains of those poor horses. Looks like it could only be arson the way the house and stable block are burned. How could anyone do this. And what about the people i don't think they've found them yet. It doesn't bear thinking about.

I can't imagine anyone hating another person enough to do this. But perhaps I'm being a bit innocent. And as for the appalling suffering of those poor horses... What a dreadfully tragic business for all concerned.

i said to my husband yesterday evening that i thought the horses had been shot, as they certainly wouldn't be positioned in the burnt out stables as they were, if they had burned to death...

small consolation i suppose that it has been confirmed this morning that indeed they had been shot, and the family dogs before the blaze....

that is a small consolation, yes.
i truly cannot understand the mentality of a person who would do such a thing.
have they found the family yet? i fear that someone who has done all this would have wanted the family to know about it all, so they might still be alive.

Unless the father did it? and then perhaps later on Phorensics will find 3 bodys in the house? Things like this dont happen in quiet old Salopshire! Its a real mystery.

Very sad and strange. But it has made me very aware of our own fire safety, off to update our tiny fire extinguisher today for a bigger version!

Why couldnt they just let the innocent animals go...they didnt NEED to halm them..... if it is a vandetta against the family, its horrible to think that people then expand this to animals :-(

Personaly ii think the Dad did it ! He would have known that if he set the stables on fire before the rest oif the house someone would call the fire brigade, so he parked the horsebox there to give him more time. Then shot the dogs, and his family, then burned the place down and made it look like Arson!

I May be very wrong but its a bit suspect otherwise, coz surely if someone just had a grudge against him they would have just killed the family and not all the animals!

Plus it said in the paper he was a keen on Shooting - So he had guns!

Am i the only one who thinks its a bit close to home!

Only hope that the animals didnt suffer in all this!

Have they found any human remains yet? it all sounds a bit strange, windows boarded up drive blocked with a horsebox etc.
Maybe he had p****d someone off big time (one report said he had a pipe company which went into liquidation owing over a million to customers and£800.000 in taxes.
maybe they've done a runner and shot all their animals first.
Either way how anyone can do that is beyond me.

well lets just hope, rainycali, that you don't end up in McCannsville, being flamed from every angle for daring to suggest, and not only that, warned that your words will no doubt cause the close down of the entire HHO, if not the interweb thingy.

This is just awful, I just hope the horses were shot before the stables were set on fire. I dread to think of the other animals that may have perished as the news reports say they were a big animal loving family and had loads of pets. But it is all very strange, my immediate thought, like others have said, was that the father must have really peed someone off big time. If the family have perished in the house then that is awful, but if they are still alive I just can't imagine what the poor daughter must be going through.
