Has anyone been to Ireland and bought and imported their own horse? Want a nice coloured which they seem to have plenty of. Would take some very experienced help with me but is it still a mine field? Any good contacts . websites??? info???

my clients have just bought a lovely little coloured mare from ireland!!! what are you looking for? as always, its purely a case of buyer beware... there are some good some bad - just make sure you know what you're looking for and what your buying!

Fifteen to fifteen three. Fantastic to hack and bombproof in traffic. Med weight. Nice looking and nice paces as would like to work towards dressage in a year or two. Have spent last five years running around after my son and taking him to BSJA and now its my turn.

What about Shaun and Sally Parkyn are they still in Ireland. They had a fab eye for a horse, but then I may be bias as my mare came from them. They have found lots of very good horses though.

My boy was from Ireland (in my sig), I went over there and brought him privately and had him shipped over as a 3/4yo. What sort of thing are you looking for? Wouldnt hesitate to do it again.

ETS just read what you had posted!

Have you got a certain budget? PM me if you'd rather....

Have a look at www.ecklandssportshorses.com

Based in Dublin, Dave the owner is an excellent horseman & his horses reflect this

He works on a 'does what it says on the tin' approach, and you'll get a guarantee. Have met some of the hroses and watched him work with them and he's one of the few folk I'd trust with a horse I owned.

Edited to add after I have done with being offended, not the case with mine, she wanted him to come over the england as she believes there are a larger range of disciplines and more competition for them to take part in. She was desperate for her homebred baby to move aswell so she could see him on the Uk show circuit, but then she was scottish so not irish through and through
