Horses in Birmingham?

I am going to Birmingham University this year and am desperate to find some horses to ride while I am thee: does anyone know of any yards, EC's, popular events or anything equine-related there? If London has horses then Birmingham surely must!

Uni of Birmingham have an equestrian club and team. A few of years ago, their home ground was Kingswood EC, a couple of years ago the teams moved to South Leics Riding Establishment.

I'm not sure where the rest of the club trains if you are not interested in the teams, but it would definately be worth tracking down the horse riding stand at freshers fair, a great way to meet people too!

If you have transport then Solihull if not the best bet is the yard at Sandwell Nature Reserve - its in the triangle in between where the M% and M6 meet - but you will be able to get there on public transprt and there used to be a yard in Quinton (near the Uni) but I'm not sure on the situation re lessons etc
