And ponies. And mules. And donkeys.

I know it's going to be a hard winter for us with equines in the UK, with the hay shortage etc., but please spare a thought for those affected in the floods in Pakistan. Apart from the loss and injury to people there is a desperate need to help the horses that have been injured, left without food, or clean water to drink.

You can help by donating here http://www.thebrooke.org/content.asp?id=10110 to the Brooke Hospital.

I'm donating a tenner, which I can sorely afford and I'm sure a lot of you are struggling too, but I know The Brooke would be grateful for anything you can give. Even if it's just a couple of quid, it all helps.

Thanks for reading.

.....much as I dont want anything bad to happen to any animal in Pakistan, I think my money will be aimed more at the massive human tragedy out there.....

Maisy. I know what your saying. A vast majority of the population rely on these animals, and when the country starts to recover they'll need them to help to set up the villages and farms and markets again. Basically, they'll be stuffed without them.

But i respect your point.

Mrs M. Thank you.

Having travelled a lot in Asia the Far East and Middle East I have witnessed their work and they are so good and the money is so well spent .
The people need their equines to eeek a living so as a previous poster said once things start to get back to normal they will be in real trouble if these animals have been allowed to perish.
Any money donated to help these animals will also help the people in their efforts to get their lives back after the floods receed

your money should be safe I believe the brooke are a very reputable charity and would be helping the animals its sad that a country that has a nuclear capability and wealth seems to be lacksidasical when it comes to helping its people...
