Looking at potentially relocating to Worcester....

Can anyone tell me anything at all - yard recommendations, what’s the riding like, any riding clubs/competition centres etc.

PM if preferred.

Thanks :-)

Lots going on - several riding clubs for all interests and ambitions, good county BHS. Reasonable bridlepath network and if you are a member of the WBRA you get to use the private parking places so you can use the bridlepaths. In the north west of the county there is the FC Wyre Forest which is useful in winter as there are plenty of hard tracks.
£10 annual permit.

There is an indoor school/competition centre at Gracelands, near Droitwich, Solihull is up the motorway but is very busy. Sapey Cross Country course just over the Herefordshire border and Lincomb near Stourport is a training cross country course and hold competitions and training courses regularly. Allens Hill near Pershore has large all weather arenas and has something on nearly every day of the week - dressage and show jumping and training clinics.

The countryside is more rural west of the river Severn, but that doesn't mean that the riding is an awful lot better as some of the rural roads can be narrow and busy, but not impossible.

Fab area.....

Several good riding clubs ( Worcester, Merican and Wyvern), Bridleway group, fab tack sales, great hacking ( clent hills, kinver edge, wyre forest etc).

X country ( lincomb, Bissell Wood and Kyre)

Great dressage at Allens Hill too.

Show jumping at Gracelands!

Near the M5, great for abbey dressage, Westons Lawns.

Malvern Three counties show ground for showing.

Good tack shops, feed places etc

Worcester has loads to offer. Any ideas of where you will be working ? As some areas better than others!

I am currently in Droitwich (by the Chateau Impney) on a very fun/ active yard.... although rather rough and ready.

Have kept horses in Lower Broadheath to and had no problem with hacking, just have to do a bit of road work to get there.

Also kept them in Sinton Green, beautiful hacking but a bit out of the way.

Never kept in Kempsey area but have ridden that way, a strange mix of big open commons and some quiet busy roads.

Lots of Clubs (you must join WDRC, we are a fab bunch with loads of stuff on at the mo).

Lots of show centres and so close to M'way so easy to get to stuff a bit further a field.

Feel free to PM me if you have anymore Qs
