Very sad news, 3 horses were killed on the A1 near to Ferrrybridge services yesterday and a fourth was found badly injured in a near by field and had to be put to sleep.
A local EC had been broken into which resulted in the horses loose on the road!!
As far as I am aware the drivers and passengers involved only received minor injuries which is the only good thing.
Any one got any more news on this incident?

good grief.

at least no-one was badly injured or killed.

Scrap metal theft is a way of life for some, road signs, drain covers etc

The consequences of this are horrible but could have been much worse with the number of horses out on a major road.

Just makes you feel so angry...........

Just another way in which this country has gone to pot, stealing gates from a field with horse in, poor horses and thoughts for those involved with this horrible incident.

There seems to be some confusion here, the field gates were not stolen BUT 10 horses were stolen from a yard near by and it is thought the 4 horses that were killed on the road escaped from there during the theft.
If you view the stolen section the police reports are on there and will make all clear.
