I don't think so - I think it is advisable to warn other traffic on the road that you are carrying livestock so that they can be aware that you will travel slower than other lorries.
I need to put a notice on the back of my trailer explaining why I am sooooo slow round corners....... although if they follow me long enough they could work it out.......
Otherwise I always wanted to have 'Does my bum look big in this' on the back!!!

I agree what a brilliant ideal to thank for patience. Nice one
nope its not a legal requirement, we put it on all ours as standard because other road users know what you are carrying and I also think it "looks great"
I have "Horses in Transit, Slow Vehicle" on the back of my trailer, because I was fed up with vehicles on the motorway nearly getting in the back of the trailer and not realising how slowly I am travelling.
It does help, except with drivers who are desperate to get past as quickly as possible, on a B road for instance. It does make lorries, etc. overtake in plenty of time on the motorway.
I asked the Police if it was a good idea before I put the sign on and the one I talked to thought it would be OK.
I have 'Horses' in very large letters across the ramp but I noticed today that some of the paint is peeling and the question occured to me if it was a legal requirement or not.
Thanks for that, the lorry could do with a respray but I've been reluctant because I have so many trees brushing the lorry when I go in and out my lane - single track so no getting away from them.
