I have a friend who is looking for a horse and she is having absolutley no luck so this is my last resort before she gives up!!!
Shes looked at about 20 and not found anything she likes!!!
Shes looking for 15.1-16.1, 7-10 years, allrounder. She wants to jump, X Country and some dressage. Must be good to load in a trailer, she would prefer something thats gone out and done some shows so has some experience. Her last horse was a coloured so she dosen really want another coloured, and shes an experienced rider looking for a competition horse.
She is in Hampshire and would be prepared to travel approx 2 hours away for the right horse.
If anyone knows of anything, PM me... thanks.x

I am going through the same frustration as your friend, although I am not looking for a competition horse.
I look on the nfed website, and all the other usual ones, horse and hound, horse quest/mart/deals etc, stubley hollow, sandalls farm etc.
I have travelled to Kent, Wales, Devon, you name it, I have driven there!
Last week, unbelievably, I went to see a horse that was less than an hours drive away, tried it, loved it, agreed to have it subject to a vetting, only to have a phone call the next day because they had decided not to sell after all!!!!!!
I do feel like the right one will come along, eventually - I hope your friend has better luck than me, and soon finds her perfect partner.

Isn't it strange - those who want to sell at the mo cant sell, and those, like me, looking to buy can't find anything!

Something is not right here!

I am very fussy with what I will go and see, but have still seen 8 now over the past 2 months, and nothing has been nice enough to make me want to part with my money.

Last time I was looking about 3 years ago was the same - I went to see about 25 horses, then decided the only way to get what I wanted was to up my budget, then the perfect one turned up for under my original budget!

I think it is all about patience and not resorting to buying something unsuitable because you are getting desperate!

I am hoping the right one will turn up for me soon - but am having a month off looking to let the market refresh.

Good luck!
