Here I go again - apparently 1 coloured cob was taken from Station Road in Queensbury Bradford yesterday. They left the pony that was with it. I believe it happened thro the day as the lady saw her horses yesterday morning, but the cob wasnt there last night. The next bit may help us all!! - They are using a wagon, but not a horse wagon. They are using Vans/wagons signed up as fruit and veg/Bakery (which is the one that was seen yesterday at Queensbury) and removal van! Hopefully this will help a little. This is true as it is my riding instructors pupil.

I have also heard about this via the lady who owns the tack shop opposite where the horse was stolen, so it is definitely true.

So they pulled up in a big wagon, stuck a horse in the back and she saw nothing? Shocking. I know there was a horse stolen in Queensbury but I thought it was the night before last..?

I know - i feel as worried/scared/confused etc as everyone else. Sorry, but I dont know at this moment in time if it was a big wagon or something like a luton van? Info has it that they just look like removal/fruit & veg/Bakery vans/wagons. Yes, I was told also of another cob being stolen the other night - apparently the top of fleet lane in queensbury at/near the kennels. But the tack shop is closed on Mon and it is very quiet down that road anyway. Even if it was open, they cant see up Station Road.

I don't know how the horse was taken, i don't think even the owner knows, it was the night before last and the owner only realised at lunchtime yesterday when she went to check her horse as it was living out, but it was no longer there.

You see, it just goes to show - different stories about this one! I was told it was there yesterday morning, but when she went back at ttime - it wasnt?! I'm not saying that anyone is lying or that this horse hasnt been stolen - just saying how confusing it is at getting diff stories! Its just one big headache with worry!

please see the post below which I have copied from another forum!

'Just to update everybody and maybe even put things into perspective re all the stolen horse threads.

The colourd cob from Queensbury, Bradford has not been stolen.

Unfortunately the news though is very sad.

The field contains a very deep well that was overgrown and the owners didn't know was there. The horse has fallen down the well and has died.

I won't go into all the details, but the fire brigade has attended and cannot pull the horse out, due to the depth of the well.

I am sure you will all join me in thinking of the owners of the horse at this very sad time.

Just a further note re the horse thefts in West Yorkshire - we have contacted West Yorkshire Police and no crime reports have been lodged with them for any stolen horses in the last week, the one in Queensbury was logged as missing/lost, not stolen!

Please try I keep all the messages re stolen horses and suspicious vehicles in perspective, nothing wrong in being aware of suspicious activities, but keep it all in proportion.'

This is really very sad, the owners must be devastated

That's really sad. When My pony got dementia we thought he had been stolen but he had managed to climb the wall and was found 3 fields over down the hill

I know, i recd a text from my friend a couple of hours ago. This is so tragic and my heart goes out to its owners. Like you say, it does put things in perspective re the thefts and just shows how things can get out of hand! So much for a bakery wagon and the red 4x4 !! And I was the one who put that on the forum as it was supposed to be very accurate info!!! Fully agree with H & H thread - dont post anything re all this unless it has actually happened to you!! RIP little gypsy cob x
