My horses tail started to fall out in October after he had a light bout of colic, we thought it may have been the stress of that and the fact he was in all day during the winter apart from regular hacking almost every day. However 6 months later and it looks the worst it has ever been, the bottom of his tail is all different lengths with half of it long and the other half quite short. We had his bloods taken and they all came back clear, vet checked tail and said nothing is wrong and has been wormed. He is out for most of the day on grass and is in at night. His feed consists of Equivite original, Onecup feed supplement (both vitamins), calmers, a half scoop of alfa, 3/4 of calm and condition 2x a day and adlib hay. I don't think he is rubbing it as it isn't the top of the tail but the bottom, could be that he is biting/chewing his tail but personally I have never seen him do it. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing it and how to help it?
