horses teeth

hi,
I have a 3 year old ( i think) he is loosing his front teeth now is that what happens when there 3 ( i thought it happen at 2 years old ).
when he was vetted the vet did his teeth and said he was 3 as he had caps but as you know with the gag it covers there front teeth.
any advice please thanks guys.

Adult central incisors (the middle two) appear around two and a half years - in wear at three yrs.
Adult lateral incisors appear at three and a half and are in wear around four years.

Adult corner incisors appear at four and a half and are in wear around 5 yrs.
