Horses that make a noise?

It means the horse makes a noise from the respiratory system when working - ie roaring, whistling, highblowing etc. Sometimes can affect performance.

Looking at ads...nice horse, very cheap because it 'makes a noise but doesn't affect him in any way'?

Thought it could be to do with breathing?

Depends on what sort of noise it is, whether it affects the horse at all, and what you want to do with the horse.
