As title really, after about 30 mins of exercise my mare gets a really sloshy tummy and gets quite gassy  Now ive noticed that the more exercise she does the worse it gets and shes clearly uncomfortable as she hollows her back, leans on the bit and falls onto the forhand :( She can poo no problem but im starting to worry as its not getting any better. Exercise wise this happens after fast and slow work. Its worse when shes in season too.

Feed wise she gets a handfull of calmer chaff and a wee scoup of garlic and mint.
im starting to wonder if shes suffering with ulcers :(

Any ideas would be greatfully recived :D

It could be overfermentation in the hind gut resulting in acidosis - and subsequent flatulance because of this - your field may look bare but because of this strange weather (wet and warm) the grass is really coming through and it causes havoc with the bacteria in the hind gut.

I sometimes used to have a similar problem with one of mine. What I've found helps him is bringing him in an hour or so before I ride, giving him a small feed of chaff with some Coligone Liquid in (powder would probably work too, but he won't eat it) & leaving him with some hay to munch. A few weeks ago I made the huge mistake of not following this routine & he got very gassy & started to colic - it may have been coincidence but I won't do it again!

As Nari suggested that is really good advice about giving a small chaff feed before riding. If a horse has gastric ulcers it can help 'mop up' any acid lying about also.

I'd also suggest buying a probiotic such as pink powder and in times of stress giving him http://www.naf-uk.com/products/detail.php?id=22
