horses turning into satan when changing rugs............

does anyone elses horses hate having there rugs changed in the morning?????

abby does only in the morning tho, the ears goes back and she nips and is a big grumpy bum really once the straps are done up its all back to normal and she's happy as larry. never fusses gettin her rugs changed at bedtime just in the morning do u think she just wants a lie in lol!!!

lol!!! espec when its still a bit damp from the day before, she just looks at u like "don't do it don't do it" but then she's fine lol!!

Don't change them then!
I leave my turnouts on in the stable. I would object if you took a nice warm rug off my back and replaced it with a cold and probably slightly damp one that had been over a door or somewhere all night. If they are really muddy when they come in I will change them for another outdoor rug and dry the other one off.
Also saves loads of time

Boring answer: check that they do fit her and are comfortable - sometimes they grump if the rugs don't fit 100%.

Yessss but I AM boring!!

Anyway, she has already said that she isn't a problem at night it is just on the morning so if it was a rug fit/back problem it would be all the time surely??
