I'm at FULL livery at my yard, sat I asked for my horses field water to b scrubbed and re filled as it was really dirty. The reaction form the yard manager and owners shocked and upset me, I been told that I ask to much and if I don't like it do it myself! Well that's the short version. Surely that's neglecting my horses right to have acces to clean fresh water! I have a meeting with the yard owners today, please does anyone have any advice as I'm totally being bullied by 5 people and feel very alone!!! Thanks xxx

It does sound a bit bossy asking someone to do the buckets when you are standing there! I'd have just done it myself, and then quietly mentioned that the bucket was dirty. TBH one of my horse's buckets gets dirty much quicker than the others. Generally I wash buckets out once or twice aweek, but with this one horse you would think I didn't. Its not really the end of the world. If it had been left for weeks and weeks, then fair enough, but it sounds like you are being a bit over-fussy. Sorry. It doesn't sound like you're being bullied to me, and you're likely to get yourself evicted being like that.

Yes I know it sounds bossy but it's really not like that! I left a not in diary which is for any requests, I'm on full livery but often muck him out do my own water help turnout other horses and always making cakes taking biscuits for them, and yes it's been left for wks it wasn't just dirty it was like a pond!!

Was it a water bucket or the field trough.
If it was a water bucket i would of just got on and done it.
Field trough i would expect them scrubbed out regular.
My field troughs i scrub out once a month and i have 8 to do, not nice in the cold

Does that mean that your horse has not been drinking for weeks in his field? I mean, if they are buckets and not an automatic water trough, surely it has been emptied in this time, even if it is just by your horse drinking?

I would expect full livery to clean the buckets as part off mucking out. Clean my buckets weekly but if I was paying for full livery I would want them tip top

I think you were perfectly right to request this. If they are running a business and taking payment...then they should provide a quality service.

Dirty drinking water/pond like troughs are not acceptable. Dont drop your standards just because they have. Clean drinking water is a priority for every animal.

To be honest why should you do it yourself if you are paying full livery then thats what it should be, if you do some of the chores by choice fair enough.
You are paying for a service and it is not very professional of them to bully you or guilt you in to doing their job it is irelevant why you are paying full livery through lack of time or just beacuse you want that service you have paid for it so should get it.

In my opinion if you go in to this sort of buisiness you should provide your services with good grace and treat your customers in a friendly respectful manner if you cant just offer diy livery or better still get a job where you dont have to deal with people.

Stand your ground its not so much the actual job that needs done but more their bad attitude towards you for some reason the equine industry seems to be a place where alot of unreasonable behaviour seems to go on and is often just accepted.
