hi does anyone know how much a cobx 15.2hh should weigh at moment he weighs 577kg which i know is too fat but i only brought him back into work two weeks ago after 7 weeks off
My 14.2 TB x Arab is 460kg and my 16.2 3yo Dutch WB is 550kg but she still has some growing to do. I would think your cob at 15.2 should be in the low 500kgs...but thats a guess
my 14hh connemara weighs 550kg according to the weight tape. I dont trust weight tapes and go by eye and how the horse is looking.
A friend of mine weight taped her mare then 2 days later the mare was taken into vet hospital and weighed on a weigh bridge and the mare was 100kg less on the weigh bridge then the weight tape had her at.

There isn't any way of knowing what weight your cob should be ideally as all animals vary.
You'd be better to think of condition scoring him...and usually you want them to be carrying slightly too much weight before you start them into work, with the assumption being that they will burn the weight/convert it to muscle as they are fittened.
So go by condition rather than weight, would be my advice.
