Sorry I'm trying hard to feel the love, but it would have been a better message if the woman had said please don't feed my horse apples without permission but if you want to come and ride him occasionally and do all the chores for me, that's fine ?

She was a bit mean letting her think the horse was gone though.

I confess I'm not a huge fan of saccharine Christmas ads.

It's horrible to be a killjoy, and the ad is very sweet, but I wish that pony wasn't on its own (in both homes), too. Sorry SP, I can totally see why you like it.

I kept thinking poor pony on its own, plus being fed stuff by a random stranger … plus teenage girl just happening to live in a house with stables but no horses ?‍♀️
It looked like the idea came from people who know nothing about horses but it’s surprising that no one at Horseware said ‘hang on a minute …’

As a horse mad ten year old with no hope of having a pony, someone once did something similar for me (it was a new forest!) and the ad made me spinback to fifty years ago and weep a bit!

I loved it,, reminded me of me growing up ponyless and making friends with the gypsy pony tethered on the field at the back. I begged my mum for weeks to buy him, shovelled all the coal out of the coal shed and bedded it down for him - got into loads of trouble off her for that. Then one day he moved and I never saw him again, heartbroken for weeks I was.
