Horseware rugs

I have a Rhino L/W wug and a 2 Rhino M/W turnouts, they're 11 years old, in perfect condition and still look like new after a professional clean. Highly recommend.

I have 2 Rhino M/W, and they wear just great. Even my Houdini does not budge them. Well worth the money, not as expensive as Rambo..... Mine are both Wugs, no pressure points on the withers.

The rugs themselves are great, the only problem I've had with my amigo rugs is with the ones with detachable necks. The little metal bits that the neck attaches too seem to be pulled off the rug quite easily if the horses pull each other's rugs around in the field. One of my horse's field mates pulled the neck off his rug three times in one winter :/

Only just ordered so still waiting for it to arrive but have ordered from there before and they have always been good.

Rhino and Rambo are much stronger than the cheaper amigo range, Rambo the strongest of the lot, you get what you pay for!

^^^^ This - rambo/rhino have a much tougher denier and the amigos et al were brought out for those who do not wish to spend a small fortune on rugs. I have Rambos/rhinos and they do go on for ever.

I have several horseware rugs. The newer stuff is coming up more than a size smaller than their old ones. For instance I have a very old Rambo lightweight 5ft 9" which is bigger than my new 6ft amigo lightweight? go figure.
I also have a Rhino mediumweight and lots of other rug makes. I have to say that I find the fillet strings, clips, surcingle adjustors and the tail flaps have a tendency to rip off. I have also had to have a rip repair or two in it. I have had to have my rhino and Rambo repaired many times, where my weatherbeaters have not had this problem. My horse is not in a field of rug wreckers and is not one herself, but I have to say horsewear rugs just seem to keep needing little repairs here and there. I have to admit the main structure has not had to be repaired though. However my lightweight weatherbeaters have both leaked like sieves. The Rambo and amigo lightweights have been better, but with all lightweights they let water in easily and need re-proofing in the washing machine every year to give them any chance of being lightweight. Personally I have had no problems with the durability of the amigo in comparison to the others, in fact it so far has had no need for repair. I would be tempted to go for the cheaper option in a field of rug bullys. When they ruin the expensive rhino you will have lost a lot more money than with the cheaper amigo, which can then be replaced much more cheaply :) Only my opinion with these rugs.

I have just bought two new Horseware rugs and I have had to go up a size because they are tight around the shoulders and chest which means that to get sufficient clearance (not the right word, but I hope you get the meaning) at the front the rug has to be fitted further forward, which means that you end up with a lot of bum showing at the other end unless you go up a size.

Word of warning with the wug style of high neck rug. My mare has a long mane, all bar the section that used to lie under the high neck part of her rhino wug, which just does not grow back properly. It has been about 4 years since she wore it last and it still hasn't grown back. My girlie is especially sensitive, but on certain types it is worth being aware of.
