Those you run "bring your horse on holiday" establishments - what kind of insurance do you have? I have a holiday cottage on a farm and would like to offer this too. turnout with shelter, possibly stabling. A broker has told me I need a Livery Yard insurance policy for public liability plus care custody and control. I'll go for this if required but I wouldn't have other people's horses here all year round unlike on a livery yard so it seems I would potentially be paying for more than I needed. Is this what others have in addition to requiring guests to have their own public liability/rider insurance? or what do people do? Thanks

Do you currently inside your premises? Some Agricultural home/small farm policies automatically include livery up to X number so might be worth checking with your existing provider.

oh interesting, we do have a farm policy but doesn't include liveries at the moment - I will ask them though if they can add it on rather than looking at separate equestrian yard policies
