brought one of our youngsters back from the big field to home to start his education.this was saturday.now he is out in the day and in at night with ad-lib hay.worming up to date, prob do with a bit more condition as he lost a bit whilst waiting for spring.
but he is doing splatty cow-pats. is there anything i can do to help this? thanks.

My youngster had this too a few weeks back. I wasn't sure if it was due to the sudden rubbish (very wet) weather or whether it was him getting used to being a 24/7 free range pony. He stopped when i started giving him some extra fibre (haylage) so I put it down to that in the end. Might just be the change in weather affecting the grass seeing as we've suddenly had sun?

he has gone from being out 24/7 to 12 hr in & 12 out (approx).only moved him saturday evening and i suppose it is only tuesday ?

I was told to feed natural yoghurt, about a third of a large tub per day.

I haven't tried it yet but have been told this by a couple of people and also read it somewhere when I was googling it.
