Horsey events for 2011??

Me again.

As part of my news years resolution to improve my photography/ website/ portfolio i want to go to as many horsey events as possible this year.

Any suggestions? Big or small, any type, but the more variation the better. Probably in the north west though please?

So far the ones on the list are:

Brahmam

Great Yorkshire Show

Royal Lancashire Show

Malvern Arab nationals (hopefully same time same place as last year?)


And i seem to have run out. Anything else you know of that's exciting or interesting? Anything out of the ordinary? I would love some kind of jousting display or something, or western show?

Help please! :)
 
Geoff Billington and Oliver Townend Champions Tour at Aintree International Arena -I think its in January

British Eventing at Somerford Park or Kelsall Hill, in Cheshire

Monty Roberts at Aintree

Loads of showjumping and dressage championships at Aintree

Cartmel Races - take a picnic and get there early to park your car next to the course

UK Showing Championships - was at Bold Heath in 2010

Garstang Agricultural Show - 1st Saturday in August

NCPA Pony of the Year Show - early September, possibly at Somerford Park

Ohh yes, that's brill thanks! All spread out too, most of the ones i had looked at were squished together. The showing champoinships sounds great, as does pony of the year. Thanks, lots of variety there :D
 
I dont know of any in the North West, but the Royal Windsor Horse Show is in May I think in London and its meant to be really good, and its quite cheap to get in! I'm sure it would make for some good piccys :D have fun!!
 
Oh it would be cool to do some sort of club with meet ups, i'm sure we could all learn from each other and it would be good for loads of practice too. There's loads of people in the photo gallery with SLRs and who take brilliant photos.

Last year i was a bit unorganised and didn't manage to get time off for most of them. I did for Malvern, as boss is married to the owner of horse entered and so i went with them lol ;) Hence i am booking them now.

I would loooove to go to windsor, but i really cannot afford it. Going to london at the end of the month to see apassionata with OH but doubt my SLR is allowed out there.

Don't think it would be allowed at monty roberts etc either sadly.

London and its fab horsey backdrops shall have to wait til 2012 ;) Already got my xmas pressies ordered for next year! :D :D may camp out in a doorway for a week or two!
