So in the depths of winter "it's too cold to ride" "it's too wet and I'm worried that it will never dry up" "it's too muddy" "there's too much snow" "it's too windy to ride my insane youngster" "all the comps are cancelled as the ground is too soft"

Now all I hear when I go down the yard or read on my Facebook

"It's too hot to ride" "the ground is too hard" "there are too many people on the beach to have a canter" "there are too many flies" "there is too much grass"" have I forgotten any other complaints??

I don't think us horsey folk are ever happy! Although to be honest I'm totally loving the weather (and I have a 8 furlong gallops so no issues with lack of Canter work for me-sorry ;) )

I don't think it's horsey folk in particular - it's just people, gives us something to do ;) And for those involved in horses the weather has much more of a bearing on everything we do, so we probably complain the loudest!

I'd much rather be complaining about the heat than the mud, though.

Meh...when I moan I make it at least something worth moaning about. The weather we should just accept. It's life, get over it.

Ha. I was the only person I know who wasn't moaning about the summer last year. The grass just kept growing and growing... and it wasn't too hot to ride.

I don't mind the heat as long as I'm busy. The rest if the time my family is like a pride of lions collapsing in a shady spot then moving and collapsing again in another shady spot!
At 6.30 though I have 64 bales of hay being delivered.......

Whether the weather be cold or whether the weather be hot,

Whether the weather be good, or whether the weather be not.

We’ll weather the weather, whatever the weather

whether we like it or not.

What else is there to talk about? :D ;)

It is 40C here and I am inside in air conditioned comfort, and here I am staying. I have gallops too, and a half mile track, I expect others do too, you aren't the only one with facilities ;)

I love the weather like this. Just amble around very happily. Horse in an Arab so he should be built for hotter climates than this.

All I don't like is that my children won't go to sleep at night!

Absolutely love that poem/ditty.

Me and Dan just had a talk off to see who could recite it the fastest without messing up...I won :D

I'm loving the weather. However, I'm pretty zapped after a day's work (full on horsey job, outside all the time and we have to wear thick work trousers).

If I hear myself starting to grumble I simply think of last winter and give myself a slap upside the head!
