Hiii :) I don't often come on here but it was suggested to me that it might be a good idea to get to know some of the horsey folk in the area as I quite often find out about equestrian events *after* they've occurred and I also think it's quite nice to know who's about! :) :)

I have a loan horse kept just north of Huntingdon who I love dearly but naturally, is a pain in the back side. Ok, so she's not that bad, but we've had a pretty pants year. My jumping confidence hit rock bottom and after some NLP sessions started to improve but then hit a spell of hard ground (which my mare hates) and so never really got back into the swing of things. Unfortunately don't have access to an arena so what I do is very dependent on the state of the field! (Booooo!)

My real passion is dressage but I've only managed to get out to one competition. Did manage to get 3rd place (God knows how) but that was last August and haven't got out since. We don't have any transport so I'm stuck :( (again, boooooo!)

Anyway, I've waffled on.... Come on Huntingdon folk, say hello, give us a wave! What have you been up to recently?

Hi! I registered on here just so I could reply to you!
Have you tried the individual place websites? Its a mega shame manor farm has had to close though, but try keysoe, sissons, hunts and district riding club, and horsedates/riding diary online. also the ad trader sometimes has ones in that they dont.
Depending on where you are might be a possibility of lift for a nice horse if I can do it for you..?
pm me if you like. (I have no idea how to do that though, all new to me!)

I'm Cambridge so thought I'd say hello. I can think of a few people in your neck of the woods and there are lots of cambridge folk about too. I'm sure they'll be along shortly.

In terms of things which are near you, over and district riding club wouldn't be based a million miles away. Also long drove dressage is reasonably near too.

Hi
I'm huntingdon way when I'm not at uni :D *waves*. As for things going on in the area try huntingdon rc website as a first, then long drove on facebook they have stuff on every month, over rc have a few things on, milton college has lots on every month and alconbury xc course has lots going on with various people they had dressage with huntingdon rc a little while ago.

Hellooo! :D

I too am from Huntingdon.. ish.. well St.Neots/Huntingdon, can't give my village loaction away incase I get stalkers hiding in my bushes!! I joke... anyway if anyone did they would soon be bored, im not really much stalking fun.

Anyway, I dont get out much either, riding or socially :p and would love to start competing again, Ive decided Im going to join Huntingdon Riding Club and join in with some sessions, get my dear marey out and about a bit, last show we did was Summer 10.

 Im so out of touch why did manor farm have to close?? x

Hmm i dont live in Huntingdon but i dont live a million miles away between Peterborough and Wisbech! I didnt know Manor farm had closed!

Hi everyone :)

Yeah there does seem to be a lot going on it's just the transport at the moment that's the issue! If anyone happens to be going out soon and fancies a hitch hiker let me know! :)

I'm thinking of joining HDRC but I'm wondering if there's much point if I can't actually get my mare out... unless I just help out at the odd event.

Yeah I heard about Manor Farm. Apparently was sold on but was going to remain a competition venue but has since been sold on again and all liveries told that they have to leave by 11/11? Shame because it was a nice venue, although turnout was never great (as in entries).

Hiya

We are based north of Huntingdon too! Join HDRC you won't be disappointed! They cater for everyone, and the dressage people are really nice and friendly. They have "give it a go" dressage ( a chance to meet others), Winter Warmers, good instruction, indoor venue (great in the cold!) and most of all a really friendly bunch of people. Don't be disheartened if you lost your confidence jumping, lots of people out there can help. If your not too far from us, then maybe we could give you a lift occasionally if your happy to contribute.

I'm in Alconbury just above huntingdon! There's a group on Facebook that is everything horsey in the area, I think you have to be added by a current member though so of you want to, pm me and I'll friend you on FB and add you!

I live in Fenstanton, Over and District Riding club are great,http://www.odrc.org.uk/
have their own club field, do Trec and lessons at reasonable prices.
For long trips I use http://www.atacanter.co.uk/, as my trailer and disco are at bit old.
Shame about Manor Farm as he always seemed very approachable and had improved the place so much. Apparently its already sold and will be rented out.
