horsey makeover!!

Hi all,

Im not showing my horse this year but I would like to smarten her up. I intend to trim her feltocks and her face (whiskers, eyebrows and jaw) but Im a bit worried about how she will react to clippers round her face. Ive heard of people using a 'safety razor' but i dont know if this is one intended for humans or if u get a horsey one?! can anyone share some tips as this is my first time trimming :-S

You can buy specific horsey razors for the job but I just use a disposable one meant for humans and have never had any problems at all. The razor gets a much closer finish than clippers too but they do grow back within a few days so you may be better to leave her untill you do intend to show her or you will be redoing it every 5min !

thanks BYR, do you use that for the eyebrows aswell?? my mares are really long and stick out like antenae!!
