A few that spring to mind although not all are novels.....

Any of Mark Rashids books, starts with Considering the horse.

Warhorse by Michael Morpugo

When sophie met darcy day

Beyond the homestretch - about rescuing racehorses.

The horses of proud spirit.

Water for elephants - does feature horses, great book.

Hopefully there's something in there you like. I'm reading a lovely one at the moment called horsepower, a memoir. Again not a novel but it's a lovely read xx

Hi

I have to agree, the Jenny Pitman one are good as are Jilly Coopers! I quite enjoyed John Francome's books as well. My favourite however has to be 'Blind Beauty'. It's meant to be a teenagers books but it is fab for any age. I read it recently again and thoroughly enjoyed it!

Or how about War Horse? I haven't read the book yet but I got tickets to see the play which I'm thoroughly excited about!

I like the John Francome books aswell, if you like thriller/whodunnit type novels set in the racing industry. I have also bought quite a few used paperbacks from Amazon for as little as £1.50 each.

I'm a huge Jilly Cooper fan. Her books are fab for a bit of fun, "beach" reading - I always take one on holiday!

Thanks for replys, you have given me some ideas, I have read the Jenny pitman ones a long time ago.
Not a huge Jilly cooper fan tbh, but have read a couple of Fiona walkers which are good.
Will look in to getting some of the others, thanks

Our Horses in Egypt by Rosalind Belben.

All about the cavalry in Palestine in World War One and the founding of The Brooke. Not a straughtforward read, but brilliant. Best "horse as narrator" I've ever read (including Black Beauty). :)
