A friend of mine had a bone fragment removed from her horses shoulder after it got kicked in the field. Can't remember the price but I'm afraid it wasn't cheap!!

my friends 18hh tried pulling her foot of in a gate, took about 9 months (i think) to re-coup and work was very slowly introduced im pretty sure the op was to remove a bone fragment just above the coronet band, 3 yrs and £4500 horse went cubbing again this weekend with no trouble! still has scar tissue and without proper management of her foot (she has to have pads) she'll be lame, she'll never be 100% level but if u never new u wouldnt notice (apart from the scar!) hope that helps!!

My mare had a "joint mouse" removed in June this year from her fetlock, (floating bone chip). The surgery was £530 but then on top are all the extras like oxygen, drugs, nursing care. Not cheap Im afraid but mine was covered by insurance. Think total came to around £2400 ish.
