I'd like to get some qualifications, in the equine industry but would consider anything.
I started a course at my local college, but had to give it up.
Now I have a little boy, and a job I love, although its nothing to do with horses!
I cant afford to give up my job as I cant afford to go to college, or apprenticeship rates of pay, and don't want to give up my job I have to find I cant find anything later on.
Are there any at home courses I can do? Or something 'after hours'?
Any advice or recommendations please :)

Hey :)
Have you looked into doing your BHS? The equine college I went to and the local BHS training facility both offer a course to prepare you for the exam. Its 8 weeks long I think and is a 2/3 hour session one evening a week. It can cost a bit though.
Good luck :)

Ditto above. There are quite a few equine courses available - but very few actually lead to anything concrete. You can study for your BHS in the evenings and at weekends. You don't need your own horse to do it. It is recognised everywhere and has a defined career path into a wide range of options.

Be very wary of home based courses & courses that you complete on line. Many of them are not recognised by anyone so you will have parted with your money & obtained a worthless peice of paper that doesn't help with getting the job you want. The BHS courses are probably the way for you to go.

This is very true - they 'prepare' you for the exams in the theory part, but obviously not the practical, and you still have to pay for and take the exam with the BHS!

Thank you.
Yeah I realise online courses aren't always recognised qualifications.
But I cant afford to pay at the moment but really want to do something!
