I'm going down to Yorkshire for a holiday in July and thought I might make a trip to the Rideaway shop and Malton Derby House. Just wandering if anyone has been to either of them and are they big stores with lots of choice etc?

Also- Going to the Great Yorkshire Show, is there decent SJ to watch?

Thanks

Robinsons in Malton is a good shop. Rideaway defninately worth a visit and R&R in Selby too.

Derby House isn't huge but has some good offers on sometimes.

Yes i would definately recommend (sp?) Rideaway its huge! Derby house is ok im not sure how it compares to other derby house stores to be honest.

Definitely some great SJ at the GYS. Thursday there is the 'Cock of the North' competition which has a huge double of walls and attracts lots of top names.

Thanks! I didn't realise there was a Robinsons in Malton! Will def go to Rideaway too

Thanks Budgie, that sounds good

GYS is fantastic for show jumping and shopping!

Okay- I was a bit confused about which robinsons it was but I know what you mean, thats cool. I will look forwards to the GYS, sounds fab! Better than anything going on up here

Rideaway is massive - there's also R&R though as well that has some different stuff - sometimes more unique things (they did some nice show jackets at one stage)

GYS - FAB jumping!!! Well, providing it's not as wet as it was last year!

Ride away deff worth a visit!

As for GYS im competing in the nov workers on the thurs-def something worth watching

Also your all saying it wrong its cock o'north lol excellent to watch, very competetive, tis quite a title to win!

Unfortunately R&R is about 20 minutes from where I live, hence I spend way too much money there! everything is set out in logical order and neat and tidy.

Rideaway is bigger than above but is another favourite and is like an Aladdin's cave, great selection of saddlery too but because there is soo much stuff, you kinda get lost in it all and don't seem to spend as much...well I dont, but its always my first port of call when buying a saddle (bar the last two) and will be going up in the next week for my next one.

Great Yorkshire is a must, but avoid the drinks stands, otherwise you will find that you will be spending a little bit more than you set out to

Hope you enjoy your stay in Yorkshire
