Yes it belongs to one of the "Pikie" community it's just round the corner from me........as these horses go there is hay and fresh water and it is seen to regular.........at one stage 3 were tethered there....... do not get involved as these "communities" take extreme offence and are a law to them selves......I know leave it at that!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think also you mean Rokers is were it is tethered!
My daughter loves piebalds/skewbalds and wondered why it was there. I guessed it belonged to some "travellers" but it looked in ok condition and seemed happy enough.
yeah - they always have them there. The current one seems in good nick and had plenty of hay when I went past on Sat, apparently a lot of the students from Merrist Wood feed them.
Whatever you do DO NOT try and interfere (feed, water, treats etc), it is not looked upon kidly in the gypsy community and causes more trouble than it is worth. I know from experience.
im at merrist wood college and yes there is always a horse/s there. they get fed and have water and regular rspca visits. many people feed them too and they are very friendly horses. me personally and a few others have spoken to the owners
they also get swapped around so they get grass, the collar on the one that is there now is padded as well and the younger ones wear headcollar (that ones gone now)
It's visited fed, hayed and watered daily. It is owned by a gypsy. Personnally don't like seeing horses teathered, but that one seems to get more care for than most. He is often lying down, when he isn't rubbing on a tree.
[/ QUOTE ] Please don't take me out of context. I think you'll find that I said that it seemed to be cared for more than most teathered horses, as is atleast regularly checked, moved, fed, hayed and watered. I have never seem it beaten by a bucket or anything else (not saying you didn't).
I know the horse(s) that you are talking about and I have to say I think they are better off than some horses kept stabled 24/7 at livery yards. They have grass, water, hay and most of the time the company of other horses. Obviously it's not ideal and I'm not saying it isn't wrong, but there are definitely horses in much worse situations.
