I'm a sucker for anything that procliams to make my life easier or more comfortable for horse or me...

What products really are worth buying?

I'm very tempted by a couple of things just now but have spent a FORTUNE!

SO,

How good are the straightbar Nathe bits?

What are Sprenger Bow Balance stirrups like?

What's the most comfy seatsaver?

Best girth?

and any success stories you'd like to share!

Thanks!

Annabel

Not sure any of those things would make your life easier but they'd certainly make your bank balance lighter!

I'm trying to look for shortcuts! Dearie me...

The logic was -
-fussy mouthed horse would not object to a contact so much in a nathe straight bar...

-stirrups & seatsaver to help my position/ability to sit on bouncy trot

-girth so horse doesn't grump when I do it up!

But...

I am a complete sucker for advertising...

I have this contraption which dries rugs...it's a metal sheet which is attached to the mains by a plug and heats up and attaches to the middle of a rug rack...very useful

LOL my horse is a roll-o-holic (that word doesn't even exist.. oh well..) so i used to spend HOURS grooming him with a dandy brush, i bought a metal curry comb with short metal bits and those inches of mud just fall away, i can get him looking reasonable in 10 mins as before it took about 2 hours.. no joke! invest now!

Ring shaped sprung curry comb for muddy ponies.
Ostler style tail comb the round one - mine is a copy but it's brilliant much quicker than normal plastic comb.
Rubber mats for easier beds.
Leg guard - Robinsons mud fever dressing but makes the mud really easy to brush off.

Im a total horsey shopaholic too lol - personally i look like a primark princess!! Never had a nathe, but ride mine in a sprenger duo straight bar snaffle which is exactly the same bit, different name and tbh i think they are FANTASTIC if your horse is fussy in the mouth. I bought the duo because it has a groove cut out of to allow room for the tongue.
Word of warning - beware the post wine internet equine shopping spree lol

Cider in my case! oh dear...
I've already ordered a bridle, spare bartl halfpad, 2 girths & an excercise sheet since yesterday...

I have a Heather Moffet seatbone saver - that's very comfy.

Don't know anything about the other things, would suggest that your horse might chomp its way through the Nathe bit, but no other constructive suggestions to make.

My Humper Dumper from robinsons!!! It makes mucking out sooo much easier!! it carries twice as much a wheelbarrow..... and is much easier to throw on the top of the muck heap!!

I'm such a horsey shopaholic, I think its a of guilt! I feel guilty buying clothes for myself but I can usually convince myself that my horses NEED something and voila...guilt free shopping!lol

The humane girth is good, not tried the others?

The thing I like is my curry comb with a hose attachment, It us so good for bathing your horse as it gets the water right into the coat & down to the skin & the dirt just floods out. They are only a couple of pounds so it's nice to have a good horsey item so cheap for once.

A well written advert in H&H - a sucker of a buyer who won't spot the 3-leggedness followed by a couple of weeks in the Maldives with the profits and lie-ins from here on in

My muckboots, They've taken a serious battering since I've had them, been worn for at least 5 hours daily through the winter and STILL look in good nick.

My metal curry, and shedding blade. My rubber curry... all lifesavers when you have a hairy pony to get clean.

and old laundry basket and pair of rubber gloves, they save me precious time in the mornings.

Shires muzzle, I'd be totally lost without it!

I've just changed from using rubber gloves and skip to poo pick to a small handled fork and skip on long handle. Much kinder to my back and easier to pick on longer grass. The forks are cheaper from a garden centre than the ones advertised for horses.

Love my jeffries leather girth.
I have a shedding blade which is fantastic for itchy casting horses and mud.

I have a paddle brush for my horse's long mane and tail.
