New boy Blue is fab, I am loving having a youngster. He is into everything and follows me around the field so he can chew my hair, my jacket, any part of me he can get hold of. If he isn't chewing me its one of the dogs, buckets, brushes anything he can get hold of.

So, what can I get for him to play with? Someone suggested one of those keep fit balls as they are big enough for him not to trip over. I can't leave anything laying around as he pinches it and runs off

Any suggestions?

my 2 year old loves his trickle feeder ball thing he kicks that around like mad but he mainly just enjoys ripping velcro off of your coat and nibbling lol

those big keep fit balls are good, as are the treat balls...
my horse also likes those rope toys for dogs (like a big knotted bit of rope) that he chews and throws about.

but... he can only have them in the stable as he gets soooo stressed if he kicks/throws them out of his field... and can't reach them. or (god forbid) a horse in the next field starts to play with them...

oh yeah thats a good idea my 2 year old had a big knotted rope in his stable during winter and he loved biting that and chucking it about especially when he lost a tooth early on

Thanks for the ideas, I will get him a big ball and the rope toy is a very good idea - he keeps running off with lead ropes and chucking them about the field

It's so funny to see him galloping about the field just because he feels like it and is full of energy - the girls just stand and watch him as if he is mad!

My boys both love their play balls, i dont know what they are called but they are dodecahedron in shape, and have a hole at the top where you can put treats in. I tend to find with some larger treats that are harder to get out will keep them happy for a long time

Mine has some squeaky dog toys in her stable, and some plastic milk bottles hung up, that shes in the process of 'killing'

i had a trickle feeder for my 14 yo he loved it- i am hoping to use it for my new 5yo as well. i had a friend who used space hoppers and footballs too!!! i love watching them play with things it makes me smile alot!!!! i hope you have fun xxx

I bought my youngster a jolly ball when he was about 2, and he's now 4... It's his favourite thing in the world. And it's also his 10 year old fieldmate's favourite thing too - so much so, I had to buy 2
