Do you think horses get travel sickness???

We have a horse at my yard who will go on the lorry at home but as soon as it moves he then refuses to get back on !! (he was at Felbridge yesterday) and the more you force him the worse he is !!

now we were wondering if he maybe gets travel sickness - he doesnt cause a problem once on and travels fine though !!

Funny that, we were just discussing this last night.

I believe they do. We had a horse yonks ago who used to get off the lorry and be bit weird, and wasn't keen on eating or drinking either. We got worried and called the vet and he said that he believed he had travel sickness, as at that time we did do quite a bit of travelling. He was always quite willing to travel but a bit funny afterwards, and we think this was what he got.

Not sure if this is what your horse has, but I do believe they get a bit iffy about travelling.

its not my horse it is a liveries actually but he is happy to og on and off but once at a show he wont go back on its like he doesnt want to actually travel in it !!
