Horsie toys

i've started working Smoochy again after a month of lameness, and i was letting him wander around the arena today while i tidied away jumps with a friend, and he started playing with this blue barrel! it was adorable! just rolling it around with his nose and legs, and if i rolled it to him he'd roll it back! he got a bit over enthusiastic though, so i had to take it away incase he broke it... i never realised horses played like that....

so i thought it would be quite nice to find a proper toy for him to mess around with? like one of those big rubber fitness ball things... it would have to be quite Oscar-proof, and not burst with a bang if he stood on it. anyone know where i can get something like this?

my 2 have got a treat ball and they love it!! its so amusing to watch! i went up there this evening to feed them and it had gone the other side of the electric fence still half full!! poor buggers must have been staring at it all night LOL!!!

How about a spacehopper. My friends mare used to play with one, picking it up by the horn things and flinging about. I don't think they're too expensive either so if it gets trashed its not so bad.

Yes, I have heard that horses like to play with space hoppers too!

I have a row of blue barrels over the fence and my two play them like the bongo drums.

George loves his treat ball, once he's scoffed everything he then spends ages kicking it round the stable!
