Hot Feet - any ideas?

My horse came in today with 3 really warm feet which is unusual. My first thought was laminitis although there was no digital pulse and no puffiness around the pasterns. She has never suffered with laminitis before and she isn't particularly overweight.

She was last shod 10 days ago and the farrier didn't pick up any problems and she seems completely sound.

Does anyone have any ideas as to what could cause the heat and moreso why it's oddly in 3 feet?

Thank you

Hi Oberon, I was hoping you would be on here!

She had the physio today and no she isn't lame but she was tight across her back - the pyhsio felt she had been doing a bit too much yeehaing on our slippery ground and kicked out too far behind at some point.

She didn't feel however that the heat in her feet was as a result of this and by the time the physio had finished they had cooled down a bit. She had been standing in for about an hour and a half before the physio arrived.

I had long discussions with my farrier last week about nutrition for feet after your forage analysis posts and at no point did he mention I should be worrying about laminitis.

The only thing is I started feeding speedi beet about 10 days ago - could this be related do you think?

Very strange!

If she has no discomfort and no pulses then there don't appear to be any clinical signs of lami or abscess.

See how she is in the morning.

It's not the same as seeing in person, but if you wanted to post or pm some pics, it'd be cool.

I would love to - thank you. My YO feels she is being shod a bit boxy & that is the problem so it would be good if you can have a look. I will try & take some pics tomorrow and post with an update on the heat situation.

However my other one trod on a farriers nail on Wednesday which went straight into the centre of the frog - luckily it missed the pedal bone & navicular bursa but she is currently in our nearest vet hospital being monitored. I may have to tear her away from her luxury spa tomorrow I won't get chance to post, but I will do so asap.

Was it just a one off shadowboy? I'm hoping by the morning everything is back to normal but I'm a bit worried as I've never had this before.
