Hot feet?

Evening all, just back from getting my mare in and i dont know what made me check but her back feet were warm to the touch along the coronet band. Her fronts were cool. She doesnt seem any stiffer than normal (arthritic) bur has been a bit quiet past week. She is also reluctant to have a back hoof picked? Any suggestions? Stats shes around 20 years old, barefoot all round, in at night out in day on ok grazing.

I wouldnt worry my horse is 4 and he gets hot feet he is fine i think it is just a faze and if she is 20 then yeah ...

Is she lame? personally I would see she takes it steady and bute may help her as she is in pain.
If she is not right in a few days I would consider calling the vet for a chat

Do not bute her... If you need you need the vet you may well mask something important!

If it has only just happened then see how it goes, a little pain relief won't hurt.
If you do need the vet if it hasnt got better in a few days then the bute wont be masking anything.

Not lame just stiff, there isnt any chance it can be lami with her age? X
