ive noticed that storm gets hot feet and so does my yearling sometimes
im paranid about lami as my old girl has got it from the grass at this yard for the first time!
they have hot feet in the morning in the stable sometimes so they havent been running about.
neither are lame or have pulses.
storm is a condition score 5/5and yearling beyonce is 2.5/5.
they get soaked hay at night and go out on as little grass as the yard will let us on(origionally wanted us to put them onto a fresh paddock every 3-7days!!!!of really lush grass)

just trying to be so careful.i know youngsters are less prone to lami but the grass at this place is awful, far too good for neds.may end up keeping them in and only putting them out for a few hours a day until its burnt off.(am moving my two in just under 3 months as i start a new job anyway)

All you can do is condition score regularly and monitor weight changes with a weigh tape every week. Could you use a grazing muzzle if you are worried about weight?
Their feet do fluctuate in temperature and my horses get quite warm at times throughout the day...it really is not a reliable measure for lami really...if you keep them slim they should be fine.

my 4 year old is on 2 weeks box rest with suspected lami.
The vet is treating it as lami just to be over cautious at the moment seeing as how there are so many cases of it. Vet said he could just be footsore.
He had obvious pulses in his hinds and was moving very awkwardly, but we thought it was a back/hip issue, he seemes to be placing his feet funny.

Hoof testers showed pain in the hinds.

His hinds where hot, but it was on and off, one day they where, then we had rain and his legs where cold and wet, so they felt cold.

My boy is from the continent but had been here 3 weeks, out at night , in during the day, then came to me and he was in a restricted paddock with very patchy grass for 2 weeks out 24/7.

he may just be footsore though as he was tearing up and down the place a few times and its stoney ground.

Id keep an eye on it, and watch how they move/place there feet.

Lots of horses here of the fit slim lighter builds are getting lami. vet was telling me he had seen so many non chubby cob types getting lami the past month it was scary. they are telling all owners to be extra vigilant and not to think in terms of the stereotypical lami types.

They say hot feet are not a sign, its the pulses. Mine has got lami again, despite being thin, wore a muzzle all the time at grass and was in during the day, groan........ He is in for a month as he was footsore after the farrier. Looks perfect now, but keeping to vets advice. Just bring him off the grass for a couple of days if you are worried.

lami is a total and utter pain, some horse just seem to get it no matter how hard we try or how much hair we lose through stress!!!!

My old boy very often has warm feet or the odd warm foot - he isn't laminitic tho, I'm led to believe hot feet can also be caused by the hard ground - he went hopping lame just the other week - so bad you would have thought there was a 6 inch nail sticking out of his hoof !! 2 days box rest and he was right as rain again !!
