Hi guys,
Sorry if this should be in vets..but more people read this section!
My TB mare has a really hot back foot and up to the fetlock. She is not lame or sore and there is no swelling. It has been like this for three days now. I called the vet and she gave me some bute and said it could be an abcess or minor sprain, but said it was odd that there was no lameness. Her attitude was very much, 'if she isn't lame yet, she soon will be'. Am to call her in tomorrow if worse/no improvement.
This morning it seemed less warm, and she is staying in today on vets advice. Anyone else had a similar experience that hasn't turned out to get worse? Am praying it doesn't turn into pussy abcess, so fingers crossed.
Thanks.
