Hot pony in trailer

Daughter’s pony is currently fat and fluffy, I’ve done a bib clip but will do more this weekend.

My issue is she cooked in our trailer today, arrived dripping (short journey, slow speed, normally travels well but gets hot easily) and was then just uncomfortable in their lesson.

I travelled home with the front flap open (Ifor Williams 510) but I don’t know if this is “allowed” pony was much happier on the way back and I could see her eating hay, she’s only 12.2 so isn’t being blasted with cold air.

We’ve just changed to this trailer and I don’t know if I should travel like this for air flow? I was hoping to avoid clipping more off her but I will try a high trace at the weekend.
 
You say you've just changed to this trailer.... has it been serviced wince you've had it? Tyre's checked? What trailer did you have before?

Has she traveled in this exact trailer well before?

Yes, all in good working order and she’s travelled in it before without issue, she’s just not been quite so fluffy in 13.5c before (I was hoping to avoid too much clipping).

Before this we had an Equitrek and we would travel with all the windows open or she’d get too hot. She grows a thick coat and is always prone to getting hot (we once had a hilarious New Years Eve vets visit and £300 later came to the conclusion she was just too hot naked in the stable.)

I’m just going to have to clip aren’t I?

Yes! I think you are 🤣

Our Welsh is a warm traveler, always has been. She had an early clip for this reason as she was a sweaty mess before we even got to the lessons! It’s surprising how warm they get in there if it’s mild particularly x
 
Eugh! That’s my fun weekend job then *itches*

It’s such a pain as she grows a thick coat so early, she’ll be in her summer coat by March but autumn is always a pain!
