Any up to date OTC treatment for hot spots please. Many years since I had a little JRT with hot spots and he cost us a fortune in various remedies and pinning down the cause. I don't think Jessie lab has actual hot spots, more some sort of irritant from walking through long wet grass (and a lot of plantains apparently, not sure if they may be the issue) the past couple of weeks. But she is now on the inside of her lower legs on two legs, one front and one back and is licking them a lot. What started out as bald patches is now becoming a little red and sore looking.

Any ideas of something I can buy to soothe and heal the spots. We are going to keep her off that field for awhile obviously.

I have the silver spray but was worried if she might lick it off and harm herself. Hadn't even thought of putting a collar or something on, I guess that would be the sensible thing to do. Would be the reactive highly emotional one who will be convinced we are trying to kill her and not one that isn't bothered what you do to her.

@Maxine67 ‘s dog Nikkai has had hot spots recently.
Good luck with them 🤞
Nikkai has had a couple of hot spots recently and was licking at them and making them sore, I've trimmed the hair around them and use Botanica wash and Botanica cream on them twice a day, which is definitely helping, he is having to wear the cone of shame too which he is none to happy about, but I can't trust him to not lick the cream off 🙈

Thanks Maxine67 I have the stuff suggested by druid and it should be here later today or tomorrow morning. If that doesn't work I will try the Botanica, but I didn't rate it very highly with use on one of the donkeys awhile back, but obviously that was for a different issues and may be great for the dog. 🤷‍♀️

I hope it helps, Nikkai never suffered with them up until last year, so not sure what's causing them 😕
